Temples FHE

The kids were really excited about our Temple Poster that we created on a Sunday afternoon.  We scoured the church magazines for pictures, used an old calendar and printed some of our family pictures out to glue on.    Then we wrote facts and doctrine about temples beside each picture.  Love these kids of mine.

100 Days Before Christmas

I can’t remember how exactly this little tradition started… but I have a Christmas loving husband and years ago we decided we’d have an official day to start getting excited for Christmas.  100 Days before Christmas is September 17th… so pretty much right after we get everyone new backpacks and school supplies, it’s time for our early family Christmas party.  We typically watch a Christmas movie, make cookies, and drink hot chocolate – even though it’s way too warm for it.  Sometimes we start a puzzle, or a Christmas list.  This year we watched Elf, made sugar cookie dough and made a Christmas chain – a really really long one.   As silly as this tradition is, our kids won’t let us go without.  Bring on Christmas!  I love my family.   : )

Colorado Springs Hot Air Balloon Festival

This was my first time ever going to a Hot Air Balloon morning lift off.  I’ve been to the Balloon Glow plenty of times but have never gotten myself out of bed in time to see them all take off in the early am.  I was determined to see them and woke up early and woke up Megan to see if I could rally a supporter.  She was in.  We headed the twenty minutes south to the park and had a great time seeing all the balloons filling with air.

There’s my ‘up for an adventure’ sidekick.  Love that girl.

Unfortunately the wind picked up and the Balloon Lift off was not to be.  After waiting it out for a few minutes, all of Balloons quickly deflated and went down all over the fields.  It was a little sad – but still interesting to watch them all go down.  Maybe next time…

• I touch… and pick purple and blue flower for people at the hospital.
• I worry… about the people that are hurt.
• I cry… about the people that are hurt.
• I am… an awesome doctor.
