St. George Trip

I wish I had a picture of Grandpa and Grandma’s new house in St. George.  They purchased it just a couple months ago and were anxious to have us come down and see it.  We were glad to have Ashlyn and Lindsey and their kids with us as well.

We drove down in several cars on Sunday afternoon, got the big tour, moved all our stuff in and ate a late dinner.   Then we celebrated Ryan’s REAL birthday by playing a game of Carcassonne with his new expansion before headed to bed.

Monday after Ryan and I ran, and we all ate breakfast, we headed to the community pool.  It was a little windy so we mainly stayed in the indoor pool and the kids loved it.

Grandma picked up Jimmy John sandwiches for lunch and we hung out at home for awhile before Shelley and Del headed off to go buy a Washer and Dryer and Ashlyn, Lindsey and I headed off to do a little shopping.  We found a cute urban ‘garage sale’ kind of store with some fun things to look at and I ended up picking up a red magazine rack that we’ll stick by the piano for our piano music.  We picked up the kids from the house and headed to a Mexican Restaurant for dinner.

Tuesday we slept in, went jogging and then headed to the Splash park.  Ashlyn and Lindsey swung by SWIG to pick up Dirty Coke’s and got a Dirty Mt. Dew for me and a plate full of sugar cookies.  Tasty.  The splash park was pretty packed on such a hot day (105 F) but we found a place to walk around in the water and cool off.

After a couple hours at the splash park my big kids wanted to head back to the community pool.  It was a perfect afternoon to try the outdoor pool, which was so refreshing.  We had a great time swimming and relaxing.  Luke and Matt with their floaties on are enjoying their freedom in the pool and I have to say I love it as well.  Got to get those guys in swimming lesson soon!   I could have hung out at the pool for hours but we headed back to the house, got ready and headed to Brick Oven for dinner.   After dinner we dropped the kids off at home with Ash and Linds and Ryan and I headed to the movie theater with Del and Shelley to see Man of Steel.  I just love hanging out with Ryan.  So glad he’s around these days.

Wednesday morning we headed up into Snow Canyon to do a little hiking.  We knew we wouldn’t last too long because of the heat but we gave it a shot anyway and it ended up being really nice in the shade of the big red rocks.

We ate lunch at home and then Ryan, Grandpa, Emily and Ashlyn started a long game of Golf Monopoly while the rest of us relaxed.  Later we went back over to the outdoor pool and swam.  Then ate hamburgers at home and then watched Jack Reacher in the big family room downstairs.  Great days.  I love St. George.  The next morning we packed up and headed out for one last IHOP breakfast all together before driving back up to Sandy.  It was a great trip --  I can’t wait to go back with Chris.

Farmington Station

Monsters University-1

We had a fun Saturday.  Del, Ryan and I went suit shopping and then met Grandma and the kids who were having a blast at Scheels riding the Ferris wheel and seeing all the attractions.  We grabbed a quick lunch and then headed up to Farmington to meet Ashlyn and Kyle and kids, Lindsey and girls and Elisha with Molly and Foster for the Monster’s University movie.  After the movie we hung out in the square and let the kids play for awhile.  Scott joined us and then we grabbed burgers and fries from HABIT BURGER and took them back to Kyle and Ashlyn’s house to eat and play.  Loving all this fun family time!!  So fun that Ashlyn and Scott live just 5 minutes from each other.

Wii Day

Luke, Matt, Spence and Ty had been begging for a Wii day.  We planned it for Friday when I could drop the kids off at Nikole’s and take Ryan shopping for a new suit.  The boys got right down to business playing Wii, and Megan took the first shift playing with Bode – a hardship for sure.  Ryan and I went looking for a suit but found more success shopping for me.  The two of us ate at Café Rio for lunch and then headed back to the Moons where the kids suited up for fun at the Splash Park.  It was a nice night but almost too breezy for the Splash Park so the kids spent most of the time at the playground playing one version of tag or another.  Nikole picked up pizza for the kids (and John) and turkey avocado sandwiches from Kneaders for us.  Sounds fair to me.  We ended up hanging out for a couple hours chatting with John and Nikole and listening to music – which was really fun.  Fun Johnson/Moon time!
