We finally finished the garage. Chris and Ryan insulated the rest of the garage, put up drywall, taped and mudded it and then we painted. We started with white primer and then decided that’s all we needed. Chris added lots of organization shelving. It looks great.
For Family Home Evening after General Conference, we talked about some of our favorite talks and then filled out these posters (from Mormon Channel instagram) and thought of things we felt inspired to work on. Megan: … I will pray with meaning. Katie: …I will listen to a Conference talk every morning (which she is doing a great job of) Ryan: … I will improve my scripture study. Chris: …I will focus on the basics. Emily: … I will share all of the things that happen in my life, with Heavenly Father. Matt: … I will be happy to my family. Luke: … I will be good so I can live in Heaven. { I just love this little picture that Luke drew on the back of his paper. He is helping someone who fell off his bike and then meeting Heavenly Father on a cloud who says. “Welcome to Heaven, my Sun”}
Chris’ Promotion Ceremony… Promoted in the US Army from a Major to a Lt. Col. Chris arranged to have the ceremony on a Friday when the kids didn’t have school so we could all come and be a part. Chris had Luke and Matt be the ones to take his patch off and ceremonially place on the new patch. It’s tradition to give it a good ‘pat’ and the boys both did a great job. Then we provided fruit and sweet breads luncheon for all those who came to support. It was fun. Chris only has a few more months left in the Army but it was nice to enjoy one more rank advancement so he could separate as a Lt. Col. Great job, hon. We love you.
Beautiful Colorado. The fields by our house with a thick fog carpet down in the valley.
October Sunsets…
Emily went on a four day 6th Grade retreat and had so much fun. Hanging out with friends at THE SPRINGS. We went to the Meet the Mormons Movie for FHE and loved it.
Getting the kitchen painted… Gray Cashmere -- the Ceiling yet to be painted white.
Matt trying to do his homeworking suddenly turns to Luke and says, “Luke, stop distracting me. I’m trying to do Quality Work!” Luke’s worksheet from school… Three things I want you to know about me. First I love Pokémon. I woch it evere day! Not quite true but almost.
Lots of soccer games. Fun to watch these guys play! Ryan’s High School team, Megan’s Competitive Pride team, Katie’s Competitive Pride team and Luke and Matt’s YMCA team. Luke and Matt had a great time on their team. They did really well. During one of the early games, Luke had scored two goals and the coach told him it was his turn to sit at the side and let somebody else come and play. He looked at his coach in complete shock and said, “But I’m AWESOME!” It was pretty funny.
Matt’s poster for ALL ABOUT MATTHEW week. Cute Katie and Megan.
We had a great Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat – thanks to my friend, Amy and her group of supporters – including all the YW. It was a really fun night. Lots of fun costumes. My kids had a blast!
