Mount Cheyenne Zoo

These three had the day off school so we decided to go pick up some lunch and snacks and head to the zoo.  It was the day before our family zoo pass expired and we lucked out with really perfect weather.  Nice timing!  As soon as we got there we headed straight up the chairlifts to the very top and found a place for lunch.  The zoo was really busy but at the top we got our pick of quiet tables to eat at.

Once down on the ground, we headed straight for the giraffes – best part of the zoo.

The elephants came out to roam around, we saw lions and snakes, we played in the playground, we tried to see the hippos but they were sleeping, Matt had a tantrum because he didn’t want to walk anymore and then we packed it up and called it a day. No need to visit all the animals in one day.

One of the best parts of the day… riding the carousel and munching on red licorice!

My boys are always so excited to see the pantry after I’ve gone to the commisary and loaded up on groceries.  So cute to see them checking everything out and cheering.   -----  Matt was pretty sick this month and had to stay home from school with me a couple days.  Having to carry about a ‘throw-up bowl’ is never fun.  Poor guy.   ------  When Matt was finally feeling better we were playing in his room and he taped these cut out monster face pieces.  I showed him the picture and he couldn’t stop laughing.  ----- Beautiful Katie   -----    Luke won an Art Scholarship Award for his Stary Night masterpiece in First Grade.  I love it!   --------

Organized the boys closet again.  Love these kinds of organizations projects.  ---------  Emily had to do some volunteer hours and went to Care and Share organization to see how to volunteer.   ----------  Chris and I love to eat at Pei Wei!  Lunch dates are the best!  He always gets the spicy Changs and I always get Mongolian beef and give Chris the mushrooms! 

Miles for Mitchell

On Saturday at 4:00 after a busy day of Ryan and Megan’s soccer games, Katie’s driving course and a RS Meeting with Sheri Dew and Wendy Watson Nelson, we got on our Miles for Mitchell t-shirts and ran a virtual 5K to support the fundraiser that Chris’ sister is an organizer for.  We ran in honor of Nikole’s good friend who lost her little boy to Muscular Dystrophy and to raise awareness and money to help other families dealing with the disease.  It was a fun family activity.  Luke and Matt rode their bikes while we ran and walked 5 kilometers around our neighborhood.  Fun to be a part of it – even though we were miles away.

Daddy Daughter Dance

The Stake Activity Day Daddy Daughter Dance was at the end of April and I made sure Chris had the night off to take this Daddy’s Girl to the dance.  Then we invited some friends over so we could take ‘Prom’ pictures before they took off.  Fun to have such a fun group to go with.  Word is they had a blast at the dance and were there for hours.  Meanwhile, the moms and other kiddos stayed to party at our house.  Fun night!!

Toys

A couple of the days in April, Matt was sick and while he was almost better but not quite back to school yet, I went through his entire room to go through toys and organize some things.  I had my camera with me and took some pictures of Matt and just a few stuffed animals that have meant something to me and the kids through the years.

The big pooh bear I got from Chris for Christmas when I was expecting Ryan.  I loved the Classic Winnie the Pooh and wanted a baby nursery for Ryan with that theme.  Someone gave me a Winnie rattle at my Winnie the Pooh themed baby shower.  ------- Ryan got the Buzz and Woody for Christmas the year we went to Disney World with the Johnsons.  He loved those guys!  --------  The turle was a gift to Ryan from a family who went to Hawaii and we babysat their kids.  ------- The duck was a baby present for one of the girls. ----- The pig we named ‘Luah’ and gave to Emily as a souveir when we got home from a Hawaii trip.  ------- The horse was for Luke when he was born.  ---------  The rabbits were given to Katie one Christmas.   -------- The cute Toy Story guys were for Luke and Matt.  Can’t remember who got them since they seem to share all their toys!
