Chris and Jared’s Radiology Conference was held at the Fairmont Orchid, on the North Western side of the Island of Hawaii – a half hour north of Kona. That corner of the island was pretty desolate but our resort was amazing. It was such a fun place to stay.

The guys headed to class about 7:00am – 12:30pm on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday,Thursday and Friday – although they did miss most of Tuesday as well. They started every morning off with an amazing spread of fresh fruit, a yogurt bar, bread and juices – and were nice enough to load up on a plate for Geneva and I and bring it to our rooms before they headed back down to class. It was wonderful.

Our room and the garden view outside…

Breakfast on the balcony every morning!

The resort had a beautiful cove. It was fun to walk around the resort on Sunday to see everything. Beautiful coastline.

When the guys got out of class we headed to Waimea to go to church and then headed over to Waipio Lookout. It would have been fun to hike down to the black sand beach, but because of the Dengue Fever Virus, the whole National Park was closed. At least we got a peek.

When we got back to the Resort, we headed over to a Welcome buffet dinner that the Radiology course had put on for everyone. It was set out under the palm trees by the ocean… a beautiful setting, and perfect weather. We sat with a table of interesting people – some from Australia – and it was fun to talk to them throughout dinner. So fun to be here with Jared and Geneva. Definitely a great week ahead…
