We drove just a few minutes from our condo to Shipwreck Beach.
From the beach we headed up the Maha’ulepu Heritage Trail to the top of the bluff. SO WINDY!! Once we left the point overlooking the Keoniloa Bay, then the wind settled down a little bit. We hiked around on the cliff for a half hour or so before turning back. Beautiful!
After our morning hike we hid the road and started driving North in search of a less windy beach to spend the day. Love this stretch of road that we drove through almost everyday…
We stopped at Kealia Beach – the same beach we stopped at Sunset a couple of days earlier. It ended up being the perfect beach to play in the waves. Beautiful smooth sand, no rocks, lots of waves, a beautiful clear sky and hardly any wind. It was such a nice afternoon.

It was Valentine’s Day today and boy was this a great way to spend Valentine’s Day. I love this man.
After our fun at the beach we headed to Bubba Burgers AGAIN and ordered more pina colada milkshakes, corndogs and pineapple burgers.
And then we headed to Poipu Beach to watch the sunset… and got there at the perfect time to see the Hawaiian monk seal – who had been lounging there all day finally get back in the water and swim away.
The highlight of our sunset walk was finding this big turtle in one of the coves. So fun to check it out and watch it swim away via Chris’ gopro. It was a chilly night – but beautiful. A really great day.
