The Three Day Snow Storm

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were all snowdays.  We’ve never seen three snowdays together like that.  It snowed and snowed and snowed and we just stayed inside and drank Stephens Hot Chocolate. The kids ventured outside once to shovel the driveway but it was really too cold to play in. Most of these pictures were taken from INSIDE the house since it was too cold for me to head outside.

During most snowstorms we don’t even have to shovel the driveway since we’re North facing and the sun does most of the work – but not today.

 

Once Wednesday hit, we finally saw the sun and blue skies – even though it was still cold.

Matthew’s Fort

I helped Matthew make this big box into a fort.  He was pretty excited about it and decided to fit it with a blanket for Family Movie night and Wii playing the next day.  I love how excited he was about it.   Also, I’m pretty happy with ISO on my new camera.  : )

Grandpa’s 70th Birthday Party

Grandpa Delmar W Johnson, turned 70 on January 30th.  Shelley, Nikole, Ashlyn and Lindsey planned a big celebration.  Chris wasn’t planning on going because of some responsibilities with work and his YM calling but the night before decided he needed to be there due do a another drastic decline in Del’s health.  I’m so glad Chris was able to be there with his family for this big day.

Grandma and Grandpa Walton Visit

Grandma and Grandpa Walton agreed to come to Colorado to watch the kids while Chris and I were in Hawaii.  They flew in after we had left and took the shuttle down to Colorado Springs.  My kids LOVED having them here.  Lots of baking bread, playing Rook and Oh Heck – even with Katie and Ryan’s friends – watching movies, having gospel discussions, and of course lots of Grandpa’s  questions.  So glad to have them here!

When I got back I took my parents to the Broadmoor Hotel and Spa and my Dad wandered around while Mom and I got massages.  It was so relaxing.  We went into the sauna and oxygen room and then relaxed in the Mountain View room before our massages.

We wandered around the Resort and saw some gorgeous rooms, and fun shops and then headed to Kneaders for lunch.  It really was a fun outing.
