Matthew’s First Grade School Work/Art Work

(Getting ahead of myself but wanted to post a few things before his folder gets too much bigger – I know the end of the year is going to be full!)

“We went to PE.  We went to the BIG playground. (This is exciting because the Kindergarteners have their own smaller playground.)  We ate lunch.  We got to be a 1st Grader.”

Matthew had to do reading log’s every week. 

One of Matthew’s stories: 

“Lake Powle is fun to play in.  First, we swim.  We had a blow up shark.  Next, there was a big lake.  I went nee bording.  I went nee bording the longest.  Lastly, we had a big hose bote. (houseboat)  There was a slide on the hose bote.  There was a kitchin in it.  In conclusion some peole like to go nee bording.”

If I was a Christmas tree I would want to have… “ornaments, a star, presents under me, and toys in the presents, and stripes.”

Do you like Christmas?  Yes       Are you afraid of flying?  No

Why would you be a good reindeer?  “I would lisin to Santu and fly wen he wonts me to.”

“Christmas is asum.  First, we get presents.  They are asum presints.  Next, there is a Christmas tree.  We put the star on.  Lastly, we hav Christmas brecfist.  It is yellow and mushey.  In conlusion, this is the best holluday.”

“ I like to ride my bike.  I like to jump on the chrump. (tramp) I like to play Wii U.  I like to play tag.  I like to play with my frands.”

“ I think Sunset of the Sabertooth book is the best.  First, it’s a reskuwmishin book (Rescue Mission)  They save people.  Next, there are anumauls.  They see a lion.  Lastly, it has snow.  They’r are piles of snow.  In conclusion, this is a prfict book for kids.”

First tournament of the Season…

Bob has been playing an indoor Futsal league with her team this winter – games on Saturdays but no practices during the week.  Now that it’s March it’s back to practicing three times a week.  Tuesday and Wednesday at the Pride field and Thursdays down at El Pomar.  With a rough season last fall (coaching issues and then a non-displaced collarbone fracture for Bob) the team was excited about Coach Kristie and ready to start playing again.  With a couple practices under their belt, they played the first tournament game and played really well but got beat 1-0.  After lunch and hanging out with her team, they played again in the afternoon and won 1-0.   A great win.

The tournament continued to Sunday – and the team (without Bob)  won the first game 2-0.  They ended up playing in the playoffs that afternoon and won the whole tournament.  Bob was heartbroken to have missed such a victory – but excited for a fun start to the season.  It’s been so fun to cheer for these girls who have been together for the last several years.  I think it’s going to be a great season.

2016 Ski Season

Ryan, Katie, Emily and Megan got ski passes for Christmas and enjoyed five or six ski days with Dad and friends in January and February.  They skiied mostly at Monarch and LOVED it!
