Baking and decorating sugar cookies on Christmas Eve is tradition. We got them going early this year while we were preparing dinner and setting the table for Christmas Eve Dinner…
Christmas Eve Dinner: Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Rolls, Creamed Corn, Sweet Potatoes, Pretzel Strawberry Jell-O, Cranberry Lemonade Ginger Ale Drink
For our Christmas Eve program we played the bells, read and acted out the Nativity, and had a discussion about how each of the people there might have felt during that time and what their righteous attributes were. It was great to take time to reflect on The Birth of Christ again. Then we went into the front room and sang Christmas carols and then placed Santa’s cookies and egg nog by the tree. The kids opened and got dressed in their new Christmas jammies (Ryan, Luke and Matt) and Christmas slippers (Katie, Emily and Megan) and after traditional pictures and stocking placement… they quickly went off to bed. Because of G&G, Mike and Brian being here the kids are all sleeping in either Katie’s room or the girls room tucked into one nice little corner. Chris went in and got them riled up one last time and 15 minutes later they were honestly asleep.
