All About Matthew at Seven

• Matthew -  Matthew wakes up at 6:45 for family scriptures and always comes down dressed. 
• Matthew always wants cereal for breakfast.   Always cereal.  He just loves cereal. 
• He loves to wear t-shirts (especially his Captain America and Star Wars one) and only tolerates the ‘button up ones’ when I force it – which is rarely.  Except his new blue check.  He thinks he looks cool in that one.
• He’s particularly excited about his new ‘slip-on’ shoes.  No tying and he’s pretty happy with that. 
• He likes to scooter to school most days.
• He’s doing really well in first grade – Mrs. Brooks class. He’s reading little chapter books and now asks me to put the timer on at home to record how long he reads. 
• Also, his printing is just about the neatest I’ve seen.  Love it. 
• Matthew’s eyes light up when he sees me at school.  Lately I’ve been in a few times to help with the Spring Carnival and my regular first Thursday of the month in his classroom and he just loves it.  Plenty of hugs and smiles as he wanders past my part of the classroom.  
• Matt’s been doing better about doing things on his chart… homework, clean room, dinner dishes…. since he knows it’s tied into his Wii Fridays. 
• He sure loves playing Wii. 
• He’s pretty responsible with getting his homework done. 
• The hard part of the chart is the ‘no fighting’ box.  He and Luke are best buddies but they can sure get mad at each other for the silliest reasons and have a hard time letting it go. 
• Besides the Wii and the computer, Matt likes to be outside riding his bike and scooter and playing basketball – especially with Dad.  
• He loves to play with his friends – and his siblings friends too – thinking they are his friends as well. Matt would say his friends are Andrew Richins, Spencer Gillespie, Sammy Aston (all three of them Luke’s age or older) and Nick from school.   Matt likes two girls: Sophie Cook and  ?   He has great taste. 
• In this picture he’s wearing a black t-shirt inside out since he’s playing Ninja. : )
• Matt loves to be tucked in, tickled, hugged and chased – which is good since I just can’t get enough of him and want to hug, tickle and snuggle him every time I see him.
• I love it every night when he calls to me say he wants to say his prayers out loud to me.  He and I love to look through old pictures on the blog and relive great trips or pictures of an old house.
• I love that Matt is outgoing and has a good sense of self, isn’t afraid to be silly or dance in front of his friends, likes to try and make people laugh and loves the attention, AND is respectful and follows rules. 
• Several of the second grade teachers have peeked into the first grade classroom and have requested to have Matt in their class.
