We woke up Thursday morning with one last ‘to-do’ on our Florence list… The Duomo Dome Climb. We ate our croissant, salami and cheese, went down the rickety elevator, went outside and walked the 30 steps to the entrance to the Cathedral. From there we climbed the 463 steps up and up and up… pausing half way up to admire the painted masterpiece on the inside of the dome and take a look into the geometric Cathedral.
We took our time at the top… enjoying the view and taking pictures.
We wandered around a little bit after we got down, into the Duomo museum for a little while, and then we split up so Chris and Nikole could check out another Cathedral and Lindsey, Ashlyn and I could run back to the San Lorenzo Market. We grabbed a quick lunch, ran back to the hotel, checked out, called for our van and then ran over for our last Florence gelato.
Next stop, Cinque Terre!

After visiting Florence, you need to read a book called "I, Mona Lisa". One of my FAVORITE books of all time and set in Florence! You'll love it!!!!
