Thursday morning the kids headed off to school, Chris headed off to work, and Scott Elisha, the little boys and I headed off to Globus for some German chocolate buying. We grabbed German sandwiches, picked up Chris, Dan and Sarah and ate on the way to Rothenberg. The minute we entered, they were all completely taken by the town. Rothenberg is just the most authentic quaint and beautiful German city. It was fun to be back. We headed to the main square, climbed the tower to enjoy the view, walked along the wall, wandered through the streets, walked inside and outside of the city walls, went in the Kathe Wohlfahrt Christmas store, ate pizza for dinner and went on the night watchmen’s tour. It was a great day.
The scene below is one of the most photographed locations in all of Germany. In fact, it’s on the cover of quite a few Germany guidebooks.

I swear this is the same guy that was there when I was there back in 1995. Crazy!
