We were excited for our 6 hour Whale Watching, snorkeling adventure on a Catamaran. We woke up before the crack of dawn and were on our way down to the Marina when the phone call came telling us that the tour had to be cancelled because of wind. Darn wind. Most of the tours this week had been cancelled. I guess the wind against the Napoli Coast this time of year makes it really hard for smooth sailing. Instead of heading back, we decided to pull over in near-by Weli Point and go for a sunrise walk. What an amazing morning. A beautiful place to walk along the ocean.
One of the best parts of our morning was walking over this rock bridge. Cool waves coming under and I happened to catch the big one that sprayed them all.

After Weli Point we stopped at the little town of Waimea and grabbed some bread, bananas, chips and Hawaiian juice and decided to take our chances with the weather up in Waimea Canyon.
But when we got to the supposed breathtaking view… it was completely white with clouds. Darn.

We headed back down the Canyon and stopped to take some pictures just underneath the clouds…
We headed back to the condos and took a nap while the kids played games and watched TV. While the Richins started packing up to fly home that evening -- we headed outside to play some mini golf.
After saying goodbye to the Richins – we headed into town in search of the infamous Puka Dog and were quite impressed. Not everyone loved these hot dogs but most of us did. Good stuff – we got the Mango Relish and it was delish.
Then we splurged for Gelato -- hoping it tasted like Europe’s gelato. It didn’t but we still liked it. Chris’ passion fruit was definitely the winner. Then back to the resort pool for a 9 o’clock swim. The kids sure love swimming!
