We gave Dad exactly four hours to sleep after he arrived home from his Radiology Conference in Utah before waking him up. Last year the Easter Bunny came to our house while we were out on a family bike ride and Megan was POSITIVE that we needed to get out on a walk so that ‘she’ (Megan’s convinced the Easter Bunny is a girl – she’s so smart) could come while we were gone. Earlier in the day Megan left a note to the Easter Bunny on the front step nicely asking her to come early because of our Spring Break trip to Spain. So after a session of Conference and after waking Dad from his jet lagged slumber we headed outside for our walk. Matthew insisted on wearing his backpack… you never know when you might need a toy car to play with.
When we got home the note on the doorstep was gone. We all raced around the house looking for signs that the Easter Bunny had been there. Finally we found the baskets lined up on Mom and Dad’s balcony. Ryan got a new card game and a Frisbee, all the girls got bathing suits and flip-flops, Katie got a new hat which she immediately put on, Emily was excited about some thin bendy bracelets that actually spelled 'EMILY’, Luke and Matt got bathing suits and soccer playmobil guys and everyone got a Propel and quite a selection of German chocolates.
One of the chocolates was a big wrapped MERCI chocolate bunny which Matthew had unwrapped in seconds.
Ryan was pleased with a bag of Milano cookies all for himself.
Grandma Johnson sent some Easter treats home with Chris. Cute little fabric carrots filled with Easter candy for everyone. So cute! Thanks Grandma!
After German chocolates as our appetizer we sat down to our ‘EASTER DINNER’… ham, potato casserole, zucchini and fruit salad – along with a few more chocolates in our own nests.
