We had Megan’s family party on her Birthday Eve… April 5th, since we were headed to the airport the next afternoon.
Megan’s very first present was a small box with a slip of paper that read… “Just wait here. Dad will be back with something big in just a minute.” It was a chalkboard/white board. She was thrilled. She also got some chalk, dry erase crayons, sharpened pencils, a box of 64 crayons, and a big roll of paper. She’s all set for great art projects.
Two new shirts…
One of Megan’s favorite presents was her new soccer ball from Dad. She was SOOOO excited that she hugged it, (along with two new soccer practice shirts) and fell backwards onto the couch with glee. She has been counting the days till she could start playing soccer and this is the season. Her practices just started a week ago. She’s pretty thrilled to have her own pink ball now.
Megan opened another little present that said, “Wait here… Dad’s going to bring up a big surprise.” Below is Megan’s face when she saw Dad as he turned the corner with…
…a circus tent! Megan has been wanting a circus party for years now. When I saw this circus tent at Ikea, I knew she’d love it… and she does.
Katie and Ryan bought Megan a ‘baby Gorilla’ keychain (to match her other Gorilla) and a stack of German ‘pick-ups’. Spoiled girl.
Emily gave Megan two chocolate bars and 7 dollars from her own spending money. What a nice sister.
Grandma and Grandpa Johnson sent doll clothes, a cute outfit and some old fashioned paper dolls. Thanks!!
Megan was pretty surprised to find 7 dollars fall out of Grandma and Grandpa Walton’s birthday card. I just love her face there. Grandma Walton sewed two outfits for her American Girl. Even Megan’s doll was spoiled. Thank you, Grandma!!
Aunt Ashlyn gave Megan a cute American Girl Crafts sewing kit. She pretty much wanted to open it up right then and start… but it was too late. Such a fun present. Aunt Nikole and cousins gave Megan a ‘Kids against Parents’ game that looks pretty fun. Thank you everyone!!
Megan picked brownies and Reese peanut butter cup ice cream for her birthday treat… AND picked out that 7 candle too. She’s pretty excited to be 7.

Oh man, I share her affinity for Pick-Ups. I'm so glad you went back to the store to get us those. Those are my favorite German treat.
I love her choice of "birthday cake and ice cream"!! Sounds awfully good to me. What a great birthday you had, Megan!!
