All day long Katie shared her enthusiasm and Megan kept having me check her mouth as well. By bedtime Katie had convinced Emily that by just brushing her teeth it might fall out. Katie oversaw the whole thing, even being careful to plug up the sink so it wouldn't go down the drain...
All of a sudden screams of delight came from upstairs. The tooth was out. Blood had dripped onto her shirt and the sink and Megan started to get a little panicked... rethinking her own desire to have a loose tooth. I could hear Katie calm Megan down by saying, "Megan, it's OK, it happens to everyone." Isn't it nice to have a big sister who's been through everything before you?
Emily ran for the Tooth Fairy Book that Grandma Walton had given her for her birthday. Perfect timing! She found the purple velvet tooth holder, cleaned off her tiny tooth and put it under her pillow all the while jumping up and down and smiling.
Even better, she knew exactly what she was going to show for Kindergarten show and tell tomorrow... her new smile.
