After our cave tour we loaded the vans again... (our girls wanted to ride in Dan's van the entire weekend) and headed south for Nashville. We checked in to adjoining rooms with a great view of the city at the Marriott Renaissance Inn right downtown. Then we headed back out to explore the city and found the Parthenon in Nashville's Centennial Park. It's a full scale replica of the original Greek Parthenon in Athens... built in 1897 as part of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition -- because, of course, Nashville's nickname is 'Athens of the South'. Boy, the things you learn on vacation. We walked around the grounds and then up to wander around the columns... the perfect backdrop for an extensive photo shoot. Happy day.
